Overview
The Sonic Enhanced series is Caen Engineering’s advanced high density SATA RAID subsystems featuring the latest Ultra4 technology. The Sonic SATA RAID Enhanced line utilizes the Intel XScale i80321 600MHz, 64bit CPU to provide a cost effective, highly reliable, subsystem with improved I/O performance. With a 133MHz PCI-X interface the units achieve up to 1GB per second performance. The Sonic SATA RAID Enhanced subsystems support either Ultra4 SCSI or 2Gbps Fibre channel host connections and utilize cost-effective SATA drives which simplify the storage setup and management process making it ideal for small to mid-sized servers or workstations and various applications including data backup, media streaming, video on demand, CCTV etc.

Models
2U Sonic U4-SATA Rack Mount 8bay, Dual channel, Ultra320 SCSI to SATA RAID Subsystem

  2U Sonic Fibre-SATA Rack Mount
8 bay, Dual Loop, 2Gb FC-AL to SATA RAID Subsystem

Features
High density slim enclosure supports up to 8 drives in a 2U (5.25") height enclosure.
Redundant Power Inlet provides total security to the system. Even with one power inlet off, the system can still perform at a full electronic power capability.
UART to LAN Module provides a TCP/IP based out-band management for your RAID systems. UART to LAN connects to the RAID system via a UART port and provides remote management functionalities to the subsystem over the networks via the Ethernet port. It also provides a local UART ports for users who need to manage the RAID via the text-mode console.
Built-in FC-Hub provides greater extension availability, enabling you to set up metropolitan SAN’s that have separated nodes. No External FC Hub or Switch needed.
High Quality Design The Sonic SATA 8P meets the industry safety standard. One of the product advantages is the aluminum device carrier. The aluminum construction allows for greater heat dissipation and emissions protection. Our complete cableless design utilizes solid PCB and connectors instead of cables to improve signal quality and system reliability.
Hot-swappable and redundant power supply, drive and fan
  Hot-spare drive
  Array Management Support
Automatic bad sector and error recovery
  Automatic drive rebuilds
Audible alarm, pager and fax notification
(the pager and fax notification have to connect to a external modem)
  Remote Terminal Configuration
through RS-232 emulation terminal
