Overview
The Sonic Enhanced series is Caen Engineering’s advanced
high density PATA RAID subsystems featuring the latest Ultra4
technology. The Sonic PATA RAID Enhanced line utilizes the
Intel XScale i80321 600MHz, 64bit CPU to provide a cost effective,
highly reliable, subsystem with improved I/O performance.
With a 133MHz PCI-X interface the units achieve up to 1GB
per second performance. The Sonic PATA RAID Enhanced subsystems
support either Ultra4 SCSI or 2Gbps Fibre channel host connections
and utilize cost-effective PATA drives which simplify the
storage setup and management process making it ideal for small
to mid-sized servers or workstations and various applications
including data backup, media streaming, video on demand, CCTV
etc.

Built-in FC By-Pass Module enables user to connect
multiple PATA systems in a FC loop without the extra cost of an
external FC Hub or Switch.
UART to LAN Module provides a TCP/IP based out-band
management for your RAID systems. UART to LAN connects to the RAID
system via a UART port and provides remote management functionalities
to the subsystem over the networks via the Ethernet port. It also
provides a local UART ports for users who need to manage the RAID
via the text-mode console.
High-Quality Design The Sonic PATA 12P meets the
industry safety standard. One of the product advantages is the aluminum
device carrier. The aluminum construction allows for greater heat
dissipation and emissions protection. Our complete cableless design
utilizes solid PCB and connectors instead of cables to improve signal
quality and system reliability.
