Overview
The FibreNet 1600-FC is a 2Gb Fibre Channel RAID disk array.
Providing 16 disk drives in just 3U of 19" rack space.
With two additional 146GB, one-inch high disks in the same
physical space as the nearest similar competitor, they offer
a total capacity per enclosure of 2.336 TB. In a 38U high
rack fully populated with 12 enclosures, this translates to
over 3.5 TB more storage in the same floor space making the
FibreNet 1600-FC solution ideal for use where square footage
is at a premium such as disk farms for Internet and Storage
Service Providers.

Architecture
The 2Gb Fibre Channel interface provides a 360MB/s available transfer
rate to the disk drives and is backward compatible with 1Gb Fibre
Channel drives, protecting the customer’s legacy investments.
Dual paths to all devices ensures that the customer’s data
is protected from channel failures and high availability is achieved
by utilizing fully redundant, hot-swappable disk drives, Fibre Channel
loop resiliency modules, power supplies and fan assemblies.
FC-AL Single loop 1Gb, with DB9 or SC Optical connections.
FC-AL Single or Dual Loop 1Gb/2Gb, with Small Form Factor Pluggable
(SFP) interfaces providing LC Optical (and HSSDC-2 Cu when available)
RAID: full function 1Gb/1Gb (Single or dual controllers with integrated
Hub function for failover)
RAID: full function 2Gb/2Gb with dual host ports per controller,
single or dual controllers, and integrated hub function
